Bake a Pizza Upside Down Day

You Can Eat the Pizza While Upright

The object of Bake a Pizza Upside Down Day is fairly obvious. How to actually perform your task is not.

Let me offer a couple of warnings and a suggestion.

But first, be aware that there are recipes available for making your own upside down pizza. That's not what this special day is about.

I do not recommend simply flipping a pizza over and baking it. If you're the type who likes to put the pizza directly on the oven grill, you'll never get it off again. Most of the bottomings would fall off besides. If you use a pizza pan to cook your meal, it's still going to be a royal pain removing all that stuck-on cheese.

So how do you properly celebrate February 9?

One way I can see to get around these problems is to place one pizza right side up onto a pan and then set another one upside down on top of it. I think that abides by the spirit of the day. You'd have to cook the combination longer than usual, but I'm not sure if it would be exactly twice as long. After you try this, let us know how long it took, compared to the suggested time for one pizza.

The outcome of this method could be a new taste treat - much like the reorganization of ingredients Taco Bell comes up with every few months. (In case you hadn't noticed, all Taco Bell offerings are exactly the same. They just put the stuff in a different wrapper and give it a new name.)

If enough people like this new double pizza, we'll have to give it a new name. Any suggestions?
