The Purpose of Da Unyun
Doesn't it seem to you that there is a special day or week or month or year for every day or week or month or year?
If it does, you're right. There's a special occasion, be it international, national, or local, for pretty much any time period you care to name. In fact, there are multiple dedications for each one of them.
Here at Da Unyun (whose name is an homage to that wonderful site that usually makes you think twice) you'll find more occasions that you won't find anywhere else, as far as I know, because they are simply the imaginations of my mind. They're made up. They're fake, as in, not real.
These special days or weeks or...you get the idea...are here solely for your enjoyment. At least, that's the intent. If you choose to actually celebrate them as prescribed, that's your fault. Da Unyun will not be held responsible for any enjoyment you derive from said celebrations.
Should any of these days ever catch on (i.e. go viral, as the kids say), Da Unyun will own up to having started the ball rolling, but that's all.
The original intent of Da Unyun is to present a special occasion for each day of the year 2016. If this turns out to be popular, I may extend the effort to infinity and beyond. You'll be the judge of that.
I have not done due diligence to see if any of these special days already exist. If you find that one already does, please let me know.
