Your Neck Might Be Red If...
You can treat Paint Your Neck Red Day either literally or figuratively.
If you celebrate February 17 literally, then please use a paint that is washable. On the other hand, if you use a more permanently type of paint, maybe you'd be doing this both literally and figuratively.
To mark this special day figuratively, there are an innumerable number of things you can do. Jeff Foxworthy (comedian, outdoorsman, guy) has probably compiled the largest list of opportunities against which you can compare what you want to do to verify that it is truly something worthy of one with a red neck.
For example, according to Jeff, you might consider your neck to be red "if your idea of cruise control is putting a rock on the gas pedal."
If you check out more of Mr. Foxworthy's jokes about folks whose necks are red and find that one or more of them already apply to you. Congratulations, and I'm sorry. This celebration is only intended to be a one-day thing.
If you're afraid that there might be more than a few such conditions in your life that you want to get rid of, today would be the day to discover them, and tomorrow would be the day to start making appropriate changes that would change your neck to a different color.
