Giving Yourself the Short Shrift
Have you ever been short sheeted? I seem to remember it happening to me once.
I never did understand the enticement to short sheet someone else's bed. Most likely you're not going to be there to see them discover what you've done, so what's the point?
Maybe part of it is that they then realize that someone else had access to their bed, which can be a little disconcerting outside the college dorm room setting.
Today you can celebrate Short Sheet Your Bed Day by pulling this prank on yourself.
If you're like me and don't understand the thrill of doing this to someone else, why would you want to do it to yourself, you may well wonder.
I don't think it's to practice on someone before short sheeting someone else's bed.
The only reason I can see for short sheeting your own bed is to force yourself to curl up to stay warmer. If you're in the northern hemisphere, February 13 is likely to be quite a cold day, so that kinda makes sense.
It still seems like a rather lame reason, but that's all I can come up with.
