Turn a Chair Upside Down Day

No Need to Sit on It

Compared to yesterday's task, today's celebration of Turn a Chair Upside Down Day should be a piece of cake.

Find a chair, any chair - dining room, study, kitchen, living room, on stage, White House, restaurant, furniture store display - and flip it upside down.

You'll probably want to be careful not to hurt yourself or the chair (especially if you don't actually own it) or anyone standing nearby. If the chair is large, it's okay to ask someone to celebrate with you.

If you need to use the chair in its upright position later in the day, it's okay to flip it back right side up again.

If you have children, you'll almost certainly find that they want to make the upside down chair part of their fort. (Hey, wouldn't you?) Don't be surprised if they ask to have more chairs flipped. Oblige them; you only have to allow it on February 20. Just let them know that up front.

If, while your chair is upside down, you notice various substances on its underside that are not part of the chair, please remove them, if possible. If gum, get to it before the kids do.
