Hut, Hut, Hike!
Being the backup quarterback, especially to a really good quarterback, has always seemed like a really cushy job. I suppose it's not, but it seems like it.
Sure, you practice hard, but that's about it unless the guy ahead of you gets hurt.
You don't get to play until you get traded to a team who needs you as their starter, but you still get a decent paycheck just for practicing.
So today we celebrate you backup QBs on Admire an NFL Backup Quarterback Day.
Doug Pederson, you come to mind first. Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien, you're right there too. Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Brunell, Aaron Rodgers, Danny Wuerffel.
Danny who?
See...that's the point of this day. Many of these guys you probably never heard of even though they were much like a Vice President.
Okay, so you don't remember many VPs from the past either.
