If you have rechargeable batteries and a recharger, insert batteries into charger. Plug in charger. Wait until charged. Remove batteries. Unplug charger. Insert batteries into gadget. Done.
Nothing unusual there. I know I didn't really have to go through the process for you. I was just taking up space and time.
When it comes to doing this figuratively, your options are much broader, and I can give you fewer specifics because it depends on your situation.
Some people like to recharge by going on vacation. Up north, for example. Though many of those same people have less juice in their batteries after such a vacation than they did before they went.
That may be why some people recharge just by staying home and chillin'. For those people it's kinda like the literal charger. Just plug yourself into your favorite chair and sit for a while.
Then there's the combination of the two methods. You stay home but invite people over for a party - the kind you might have had up nort' with your friends. You save travel time. You can still sit in the chair. It's not quite so stressful if you invite the right crowd.
