National Jamaican Log Rollers Day

We're Back!

This is the encore hinted at yesterday - whether you asked for it or not.

National Jamaican Log Rollers Day just so happens to fall during the Summer Olympics in 2016. This reminds us of the Jamaican bobsled team at a Winter Olympics in days of yore.

I don't know if Jamaicans actually celebrate Log Rollers Day in their country. It might be one of those special days that's paid more attention to in the United States than in its apparent country of origin - much like Cinco de Mayo.

I bet many Mexicans have never even heard of the May 5th.

Those who have probably don't know its significance - much like many Americans have no clue about July 4th.

All three of these days - 5/5, 7/4, and 8/8 - are to be celebrated with copious amounts of fireworks. No one is really sure why. Mostly, Americans love loud noises and sparkly things in the sky - much like Germans love David Hasselhoff.

Log rolling may never actually occur on this day.
