Rock around the Clock or the Christmas Tree Day

Just Stay Off of My Blue Suede Shoes

Rock around the Clock or the Christmas Tree Day is unusual in that it's one of the few, if not the only, days of the year that you can legitimately celebrate in one of two ways.

To rock around the clock, you have to dance or boogie a full 24 hours.

To rock around the Christmas tree, you only have to dance or boogie around an evergreen (preferably one in your living room) one time. That will probably only take about a minute.

The problem with the second method is that the tree must (still) be decorated (now in August) like it was at Christmastide. For some, that's not really a problem because they keep their tree up year 'round. (Strange people.) (All emphasis is no emphasis.)

If you have boo- boo- boo- boo- boo- boogie shoes, that should make rocking around the clock significantly easier.

Most years, this special day will not fall on a weekend, so you may need to take a day (or two or three) of vacation to manage your sleep around it.
