Write a Story in 25 Words or Less Month

Keep It Brief

You've all heard or read contest rules that limit your entry to 25 words or less. There's even a game called 25 Words or Less.

Now we have Write a Story in 25 Words or Less Month. Yes, you get a whole month to do this because, to do it well, it just might take the whole 30 days.

A proper story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. That gives you an average of 8 words for each of those parts.

Most likely your whole story will be 3 sentences long then. Can you tell a complete story in just three sentences - one that someone else would care to read?

It's possible. I think it has been done. (Sorry, I don't have any examples at hand. Do you?)

You'll have to think carefully about every single word. Is it necessary? Is it the best choice?

What's the shortest story you can write? Can you do it in 15 words or less? Now we're approaching haiku territory.

I'd love to hear what you come up with later this month. Let me know.
