Compose a Song about Your Favorite Substitute Teacher Day

You Write the Songs That Make the Whole World Sing

For those too young to remember, the subtitle above is a Barry Manilow reference.

Everyone had at least one substitute teacher while they were in school. Maybe your main teacher got sick. Maybe had to attend a funeral. Maybe she was given the day off by some special parents.

Whatever the case, a substitute temporarily filled in. Some of them you liked better than others.

Who was the one substitute teacher you liked the most?

He or she may not have been your favorite teacher of all time. That's not the point of the question. To celebrate Compose a Song about Your Favorite Substitute Teacher Day, you just need to pick that one teacher and jot down a few lyrics in his or her honor.

If you're worried that you don't know music well enough to combine your lyrics with a tune, I think it's acceptable to skip the melodic part. Just get the lyrics in place. Perhaps you could find someone else to compose the music. (Someone on Fiverr?)

If all you do is write the lyrics, that's essentially the same as writing a poem. That's fine. Remember too that it doesn't have to rhyme. It will be easier to add music if it does have some sort of rhythm though.

We'd love to hear what you come up with at Da Unyun, if you're not too shy to share.
