Count the Robots You See Today Day

Robots Are Everywhere When You Know Where to Look

According to Wikipedia (WDNL)..."A robot is a mechanical or virtual artificial agent, usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry."

So we're not necessarily talking about a humanoid entity here. A robot can be any machine, usually one that has moving parts, that does what a programmer told it to.

Celebrating Count the Robots You See Today Day obviously requires observation on your part. On January 29, how many will you notice?

I'm not even going to hint at where you might find these robots because that could influence your total - which I hope you'll report here at Da Unyun tomorrow. Maybe we could turn this into a contest some year. I'm not quite ready to handle that just yet; that is, I don't have a prize for the winner.

Let me just say though that I bet most of you will spot at least half a dozen robots today. Some of you might find several dozen, depending on where life takes you.

I mentioned reporting your total here tomorrow - pictures of some of the more unusual robots you find would be really cool. Now that everyone owns a camera that they have in a pocket or purse all the time, taking such pictures is relatively easy.

So keep an eye open for robots today. If you spot them before they see you, you're probably safe.
