Stay Hydrated Out There
Before you get all up in the face of Don't Drink Any Water Day, understand that this doesn't mean you shouldn't drink anything at all or that it will be bad for your health.
As I understand it, on January 23, you're just supposed to try not to drink any pure water. Water mixed with something - anything - is okay.
If you live in the United States and travel to a foreign country, chances are you won't drink any "pure" water there almost by default. In many places, the drink of choice is not water. It might instead be beer or wine, for example.
Sometimes quenching your thirst is best done with that universal solvent called water. Today, if that feeling hits you, try adding a little flavoring to it first. There are plenty of products out there that will do this for you. It doesn't have to be Kool-Aid. Nor does it have to be purple. (Only older folks are likely to get the reference there. Younger folks can Google purple Kool-Aid or Jim Jones.)
Some of you may be saying, "Shoot, I do this every day. I never drink water straight - not even on the rocks." Fine. Good on you. Just don't get too high and mighty about it and lord it over the rest of us.
Some of you may be saying, "We can't drink the water where we live. If we want pure water, we actually have to buy it at the store." I'm sorry. Try a tap filter.
Some of you may be saying, "What's the point?" Lighten up. There's no point here. Move along.
What else may some of you be saying?
