Record Your Voice for Posterity
You may have heard that it's now legal to sing, record, play, etc. the song Happy Birthday without having to pay royalties to the composer. (It's true that you formerly technically had to pay up every time you used the song. I don't think anyone ever did.)
So without that to worry you, you can use your computer to record yourself singing Happy Birthday and then put it on the Internet for everyone to see and hear.
Yes, you can celebrate January 18 without the monetary worry, but I suppose some will worry about what others think after hearing their rendition of this song. Don't worry. They already think that about you anyway.
You can make the song a generic version by putting "to you-u" in the place where you usually sing "dear [first name]", or you can go ahead and insert a person's name there. It doesn't have to be someone whose birthday is actually January 18.
The staff at Da Unyun strongly suggests, recommends, and encourages (We'd demand it, but that's impossible.) you to let us know where your posted video is located. After all, the whole world will be able to see it, so why not let our readers know exactly where to go?
You could use YouTube or any other site that allows such things. If you want to repost it on Facebook or your own blog, that's fine too. Just let us know where to look.
