Somewhere over the Rainbow
This special day, Stare into the Sky Until You Attract a Crowd Day, is really an old joke or prank. I'd heard of it long before it became a day to celebrate.
I suppose there is one possible problem with this day. If everyone celebrates it all at once, there will be no crowd left to attract.
I guess that's the chance you'll just have to take.
The theory behind this is that, if you stare into the sky long enough, someone will assume you're actually looking at something in particular and will turn their own eyes skyward to find out what it is that is holding your attention for so long.
When they don't see what you're apparently seeing right away, they'll continue to search for it, making them look just like you. Other people will notice, and the process will repeat until you have gathered a crowd.
When the crowd is of sufficient size that almost no one remembers who was there first, you can safely and quietly walk away.
I suppose, since virtually everyone has a camera on their person these days, you should also take a picture or two. You could take one of the sky, but I would also take one of the crowd as I walk away.
Instagram would be your friend at that point.
Da Unyun would appreciate links to any pictures you take. Thank you.
I find it interesting that someone considered the picture above worthy of posting online somewhere. If you look closely....
