What If You Had to Go Without?
So if you're reading this on the first annual Go Off the Grid for a Day Day, you blew it. But since there was no advance warning that this day was coming, you're not alone.
Everyone, right now, mark your calendar for next February 28 and set at least a one-day alert so you're prepared the next time around.
Going off the grid can mean different things to different people, but I think most associate it with not using electricity. If that's how you decide to celebrate this special day (next year), that would be enough.
Even at that level, consider how many things you have that use electricity.
- Computer
- Television
- Electric oven and stove
- Microwave oven
- Electric lights and lamps
- Anything that runs on batteries, including your car and other vehicles
Depending on your situation and circumstances, the list may go on.
It's a lot to prepare for, but I know you can do it. Let Da Unyun know, the day after the next February 28, how you did.
