Take a Hike
If you like scenic routes, you might also like Go the Other Way around the Block Day.
Going the other way around the block means taking an alternate route to get to your destination. Under normal conditions, that new route shouldn't take much longer than the one you had originally planned on using.
But sometimes it does.
Technically, this phrase only applies to a single city block, but it's often applied to any Point A and Point B, even out in the country.
Some drivers have been known to use it while temporarily lost.
You could even use the phrase philosophically. Suppose you're trying to argue a point. You could state logical steps that get you from your premise to your conclusion directly. Alternatively, you could meander through various related points along the way and still get to your conclusion eventually. You might even prove some other points in the process and win more than the original argument you set out to confirm. As long as you maintain that logical sequence from one step to the next, you should be good to go...the other way around the block.
Enjoy your trip. Take some pictures and send them to Da Unyun.
