Triplicate Something Day

Third Time's the Charm

Time was when making copies of documents, whether duplicate or triplicate, was done with carbon paper. Did you know that that's where the "cc" comes from in your email? The "cc" stands for carbon copy. Kinda silly to carry that over, but it is what it is.

To celebrate Triplicate Something Day, you can make three copies of anything you like. It doesn't have to be a paper document.

Of course, if you can find carbon paper (and know how to use it), you could go old school and print out a few carbon copies. Maybe you even have an old typewriter sitting around that you could use. (I'm not going to explain what a typewriter is. Look it up on Wiki.)

If you want to go the opposite direction, I guess the thing to do is use a 3D printer, running the same program three times.

Has anyone figured out how to make carbon paper on a 3D printer yet? I wouldn't be surprised....

There's plenty of room in between those two extremes. Whatever you decide to triplicate, if you send me one of the copies, I'll mention you in a future update to this article...if you want.

It could be your first 15 minutes of fame.
