This Is Not That Yellow Ribbon Day
Does anyone even remember what tying a string around your finger was supposed to do for you?
In case you forgot, let me remind you that some folks used to tie that knot or bow to help them remember something they didn't want to forget.
Of course, the joke is that they would forget what the string was there for anyway.
To celebrate Tie a String around Your Finger Day, you don't need to have something you need to remember. Just find a piece of string wrap it around a finger - any finger - and secure it there.
Actually tying it might be harder than you think though. You basically only have one hand to work with, unless you have a friend who can help you. If you're nimble enough to work the string by yourself, that's great.
The string itself can be your standard piece of white stuff or a piece of yarn or something approaching rope girth - whatever you're okay being seen wearing.
If you actually do this as a memory aide, you can remove the string when it comes time to do that thing it was there for. Or leave it on to continue the celebration. It wouldn't be the strangest thing anyone's seen, now would it?
