Invent a Flavor Day is an easy one to celebrate. Mix a few things together that haven't been tried before, perhaps give it a name, and you're done, unless you then want to try to market your new taste treat.
Over the past few years, bacon has attained meme status. So if you want your new flavor to achieve the same heights of greatness, you'll probably have to include bacon as one or two of the ingredients.
With all of its popularity, something tells me that even bacon and patent leather shoe would make a saleable combination.
Don't get me wrong. I like bacon too, when it's cooked properly. I'm just not sure that it deserves all the hype that it's getting. Nor should it be paired with all the things with which it is paired. (I'm looking at you, chocolate.)
Now, the flavor you create today doesn't have to have bacon in it. There are literally bajillions of other combos you can experiment with.
Pickles, sweet or dill, feel like a likely candidate for your next recipe. Whiskey often adds a nice touch. (Think, TGIFridays.)
