Invent New Symbols for Power On and Power Off Day

Clap On, Clap Off

You know that little circle and line that are supposed to be universal symbols for "power on" and "power off"? You really have no idea which is which, right?

Both seem reasonable approximations of either meaning. You always have to test both positions of a switch to see which means on and which means off.

So it's obvious that we need an Invent New Symbols for Power On and Power Off Day. And we need this day every year so that the symbols get better and better as time goes on (or off).

Or maybe (as the picture shows) they could simply write "On" and "Off" by the symbols. Not everyone can read English, you say? Well, then the two words will just be more symbols for those people to interpret (i.e. guess at) just like the universal ones.

Or maybe they could take it a step further (or back) and only use the words On and Off. How's that for progress?
