You Can Eat Them Later
Compare Apples and Oranges Day is pretty easy to celebrate.
Get at least two apples and two oranges. Set them near enough to each other for a fair comparison.
Compare them.
Usually people assume that apples and oranges are very different - hence, the use of the phrase. But apples and oranges have a lot in common.
Both are fruits. Both have an outer skin. You can eat the inner part. Both have seeds. They taste sweet. Both grow on trees.
You can throw both of them at people quite easily, since they fit in the palm of your hand.
Both make a mess if you stomp on them with your shoe or boot.
You can find both of them in your Christmas Eve Sunday School treats brown paper bag.
Johnny Appleseed and Jeremy Orangeseed are both famous for planting them. (Okay, that one's a stretch.)
