AKA Befriend a Bee Day
Get Honey out of a Jar with a Butter Knife Day is a throwback to a time when honey didn't come in a squeeze bottle.
You didn't know that it didn't always come in a squeeze bottle or little packets you rip open? No, it didn't.
And some of the stuff they call honey these days really isn't honey either. Sorry to rain on your honey parade.
Real honey (from Tennessee or elsewhere) can come in those types of packages, but if you've never had the opportunity to get some with a knife from a glass jar, today is your lucky day.
Real honey can get sugary if left unused for too long, so you'll want to eat it fairly often or use larger amounts every time you do consume it.
Try this. Get a piece of bread. Butter it. (I read, not too long ago, that someone was appalled that you put butter on bread...but I digress, and that's a something to rant about another time.) Then put honey on it by dipping your knife (not one of those fancy honey dippers) into the jar, twirling it until the dripping stops, and spread it on the buttered bread. Then eat it.
Yes, just butter and honey on the bread. Delicious.
If you're adventurous, try the same on a piece of toast.
You're welcome.
