Call Yourself John or Mary Smith Day (US)

Call Yourself John or Mary Smythe Day (UK)

Call Yourself John or Mary Smith Day allows you to temporarily take on a new identity. After a fashion, we've all done that before, haven't we?

When you sign up for something online, you often have to give yourself a username. Haven't you used something other than your first name in such a case? Of course you have. Sometimes you're even encouraged to do so.

If your legal name is already John or Mary Smith/Smythe, you could use a last name like Doe or Jones instead.

"Hi, I'm John Smith." I bet people wonder if you're telling the truth, even if that is your real name.

People just don't question, "Hi, I'm Fatty Arbuckle." They might think it's unusual, but who would make that up?

Oh...and if you're make, please use John. Females, please use Mary. I know that just took most of the fun out of it for some of you, but....
