Straighten a Rectangular Picture Hanging on an West Wall Day

Failing That, Straighten the Wall

Your celebration today, should you choose to accept it, is to straighten a rectangular picture on an east wall.

This is probably the most specific special day in the year so far. Perhaps it will turn out to be the most specific in the entire year.

It's probably also one of the easiest to do, assuming the conditions are right. Obviously you need to have available to you a room with a wall on the west side that exists partially to provide a space for artwork - in this case, a rectangular picture (framed or not) that currently is parallelly challenged.

Your job is make both the horizontal and the vertical lines - wall vs picture - parallel again.

There's at least one cheat you can use if you don't have the exact situation needed. If you at least have a picture on the correct wall, you can first misalign it and then straighten it again. Simple, no?

If your house or apartment isn't set up this way, I'm sure you can find a friend's place that is. If not, try a restaurant, or art gallery, or public building.

This post may self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.
