There Were No Big Holidays in August Awareness Month

But You Already Knew That, Right?

August is the one month that traditionally has had no major holidays in America. Making you aware of that (as if that were necessary) on the final day of the month may seem ridiculous.

And you'd be correct.

This is a special day/month that you're only made aware of on the last day of the month to which it applies.

The whole point of There Were No Big Holidays in August Awareness Month is to show how silly some awareness campaigns really are. There have been other special days during the first part of the year that attempted to point that out as well, but this is the one that's intended to take the cake.

Some of you might not even get around to reading this until September. At that point it's too late to celebrate even for a day. You have to wait until next year.

When next August comes around, do you think you'll remember that you can start to celebrate on the first of the month? Probably not. You won't think of it again until August 31, at which point....

That again is the point.
